The workshop will enable participants to develop the skills required to write competitive research proposals on relevant issues, provide them with training in logical development of research ideas and to improve their presentation skills in academic fora. It will also provide technical inputs and resource persons' comments on research concepts presented by participants while helping to forge links with peer scholars working in international, regional and national contexts. Further, it will offer opportunity for Sri Lankan researchers in environmental and natural resource economics to join the SANDEE network and its research activities encouraging them to submit research proposals to the SANDEE in future. Overall it envisions facilitating and promoting innovative research to enhance the professional development and career advancement of young researchers by encouraging new thinking.
