In honor of Sir Partha Dasgupta's contribution to environment and development economics, SANDEE offers a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Environment and Development Economics. The objective of the fellowship is to provide young researchers with space and time to think and write about environment-development issues, including policy and program evaluation, game theory, welfare economics and sustainable development, and poverty and natural resource management, within the context of South Asia.

Dr. Bishnu Sharma received this fellowship for the year 2014. Bishnu holds a Ph.D. in from Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. Dr. Sharma is working in the area of REDD, his research topic is, "Examining the Implications of REDD payments on Livelihoods and Local Economic Development in Nepal".
Dr. Rajesh Rai received this fellowship for the year 2013. Rajesh holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics from Deakin University, Australia
In 2010, this fellowship was provided to two individuals.Vikram Dayal (an Associate Professor at the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi) and Dr. Haripriya Gundimeda (holds a masters degree in mathematics and a Ph.D. in Development Policy from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research in India).
